Monoplace vs multiplace chamber

The two hyperbaric chamber formats: a monoplace holds one person, while a multiplace holds several and is entered by staff.

Hyperbaric oxygen equipment comes in two main formats. A monoplace chamber pressurises a single person, usually lying down, and is pressurised with oxygen. A multiplace chamber holds several people plus an attendant, is pressurised with air, and delivers oxygen by mask or hood. The distinction describes the hardware, not any difference in outcome.
