What published research says about peptide therapy at longevity clinics
Are peptides like BPC-157 or TB-500 safe and effective for recovery and anti-aging? Clinics market injectable protocols for tissue repair and metabolism, but many popular peptides lack human trial evidence and are not licensed medicines.
Peptides marketed for recovery and longevity, including BPC-157 and TB-500, rest almost entirely on animal and preclinical data with no adequate human RCTs for the claims on clinic menus. Licensed exceptions exist for specific indications (for example GLP-1 drugs for obesity), but most longevity-studio peptides are unapproved and unproven in people.

“Unlicensed medicines do not have a marketing authorisation in the UK and may not have been assessed by the MHRA.”
Regulatory context

MHRA
Most clinic peptides (BPC-157, TB-500, epitalon) are not MHRA-licensed; lawful supply is limited to individual unlicensed specials prescribed by a clinician, not general wellness retail.

- Which peptide is prescribed, at what dose and route, and what diagnosis supports its use?
- Is the product MHRA-licensed, or supplied as an unlicensed special or compounded medicine?
- What batch testing, sterility, and traceability do you require from your supplier or pharmacy?
- What monitoring and stopping rules do you follow for side effects or lack of response?
- Are your peptide prices published on your menu, and what is included in a monthly cycle?
