Treatmentexperimental

Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) Therapy

Injection or IV infusion of mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (autologous or allogeneic, often from bone marrow, adipose, or umbilical cord) marketed for tissue repair, anti-aging, and systemic 'rejuvenation.' Sold as single infusions or multi-dose packages.

Evidence

experimental

No approved MSC product exists for longevity or anti-aging; the one FDA-approved MSC drug (remestemcel-L) is for acute GVHD only, and longevity claims rest on preclinical and anecdotal data with no rigorous human outcome trials.

Regulatory notes

European Union
Expanded (culture-multiplied) MSCs are regulated as ATMPs and cannot be sold as an off-the-shelf clinic service outside authorized trials or hospital exemption; anti-aging marketing is non-compliant.
United States
Expanded/allogeneic MSCs are unapproved biologics; the FDA's authority over these clinics was upheld in court through 2024-2025 and no MSC product is approved for longevity use.
United Arab Emirates
DHA/MOHAP/DHCC license some autologous stem cell procedures at approved facilities, but longevity/anti-aging indications are not evidence-supported and remain tightly controlled.
United Kingdom
Culture-expanded MSCs are ATMPs requiring MHRA authorization; no clinic-level longevity indication is approved.
