Concept

Healthspan

The portion of a person's life spent in good health, as distinct from lifespan, which is the total number of years lived.

Healthspan refers to the years of life spent free of chronic disease and disability, as opposed to lifespan, which counts total years regardless of health. The stated goal of most longevity clinics is to extend healthspan rather than lifespan alone. It is a framing concept used in this field, not a measurable service.
