Intravenous infusion of the antioxidant tripeptide glutathione, marketed for detoxification, anti-aging, immune support, and skin brightening/lightening. Sold standalone or as a push add-on to other drips.

Evidence

experimental

Human evidence is limited to niche indications (e.g. Parkinson's, contested skin-lightening data) with no controlled trials showing anti-aging or longevity benefit, and oral/IV bioavailability for systemic claims is poorly established.

Regulatory notes

European Union
IV glutathione is a prescription/compounded product administered by physicians; skin-lightening marketing is not an approved indication in the EU/Spain and is discouraged by regulators.
United States
The FDA has warned about compounded/injectable glutathione for skin lightening and lists it among products with safety and sterility concerns; it is not FDA-approved for cosmetic or anti-aging use.
United Arab Emirates
Skin-whitening IV drips have drawn regulatory scrutiny; permitted only under DHA/DoH-licensed physician care and subject to restrictions on cosmetic marketing.
United Kingdom
Prescription-only injectable; the MHRA does not approve it for skin-lightening or anti-aging, and administration requires a prescriber in a regulated clinic.
