What sleep clinic services are guideline-backed versus wellness add-ons
Do I need a sleep study, CPAP, or coaching to fix insomnia and snoring? Sleep menus mix gold-standard diagnostics with optimization coaching, but not every package has the same evidence base.
Polysomnography remains the reference standard for diagnosing sleep disorders, and home sleep apnea testing is guideline-endorsed for selected adults. CBT-I is first-line for chronic insomnia in major guidelines, with durable effects in trials. Wearable sleep scores and generic optimization coaching have weaker diagnostic and treatment evidence.

“You'll be offered cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This may be face-to-face with a therapist, or through an online self-help programme.”

Questions to raise with any sleep medicine provider before booking. We do not answer these on your behalf.
- Will a physician order and interpret my sleep study or home apnea test?
- Is your insomnia program CBT-I delivered by a registered psychologist or physician?
- What device and protocol do you use for CPAP titration, and who follows up on adherence?
- How do you distinguish medical sleep apnea care from general sleep coaching on your menu?
- Are study, device, and session prices published before booking?
