What photobiomodulation panels can support versus what they cannot
Do red light beds and panels boost cellular energy, skin, and longevity? Studios sell full-body photobiomodulation for recovery and anti-aging, but evidence varies by wavelength, dose, and whether claims are localized or systemic.
Photobiomodulation has a plausible mitochondrial mechanism and small trials support some recovery and skin endpoints. Targeted low-level laser therapy has stronger RCT support for musculoskeletal pain. Full-body panel longevity claims lack large controlled trials, standardized dosing, and hard outcome data.

Questions to raise with any red light therapy provider before booking. We do not answer these on your behalf.
- What wavelengths, irradiance, and session duration does your panel or bed deliver?
- Is the device cleared or CE-marked for specific indications, and which claims are wellness-only?
- Do you use eye protection and screen for photosensitizing medications or skin conditions?
- How many sessions are in your package, and what outcomes do you measure?
- Does your published per-session price match the device and time on your menu?
