Evidence
HGH is established for true adult GH deficiency, but the anti-aging/longevity use in healthy adults is unproven, provides marginal body-composition change, and carries significant risks (edema, insulin resistance, cancer concerns).

- Prescription-only and EMA/nationally approved only for defined deficiency indications; off-label anti-aging use is not sanctioned and is heavily restricted in Spain.
- United States
- Somatropin is prescription-only and its distribution for anti-aging/off-label use is specifically prohibited by federal law (FDCA), making non-approved-indication prescribing potentially a criminal offense.
- United Arab Emirates
- Prescription-only and controlled; somatropin must be MoHAP-registered and prescribed by DHA/DoH-licensed specialists for approved indications, with anti-aging use not authorized.
